Maybe not yet.... Thank God... I just changed the title of this Post to clarify. Drumblog has pulled the headline from its site.
So in the meantime, keep on praying for Elvin and his immediate family...
According to Ronn Dunnett, Elvin has indeed passed.
Sad news...............But, he lived a great and fullfilled life playing the drums very musical and leaving behind a body of work for all to listen and study for years to come.
The following was posted this morning at the drum center forum regarding the rumor circulating the internet:
Hi folks, John DeChristopher, Director of Artist Relations Worldwide for Zildjian, here. Nice forum. A friend told me about this, so I felt compelled to post a response. Hope you all don't mind.
Obviously, we've all been hearing about Elvin's health as of late, and there are a lot of rumors out there on the web, but as of this morning I have had no confirmation of his passing. I'm very close to Elvin and Keiko and I think that I would have heard something if indeed this was true. I appreciate everyone's thoughts and concerns - I'm right there with you all. Elvin is beyond description. Let's all say a prayer for the big man and hope for a miracle.
Anyway, if I/we hear anything, I'll be sure to let you know. In the meantine, keep the good vibes going in Elvin's direction. Thanks for listening.
